At Little White Corvette, we celebrate the rich history and adventures that come with vintage cars. With a passion that ignited at a young age, our founder Lajos has dedicated decades to restoring and enjoying classic vehicles, particularly Corvettes. From unforgettable road trips to intricate restorations, we share stories that highlight the thrill of vintage car ownership and the joy of travel. Join us as we explore scenic routes, attend car shows, and connect with fellow enthusiasts who share our love for the open road.

Lajos’ love of cars began at a very young age—and not without incident.

He still owns his very first car, a 1974 Triumph Spitfire. Back in early 1980, his sister drove him to pick it up. Unfortunately, the combination of a non-functioning overdrive, highway speeds, and continued over-revving destroyed the engine before he even made it home. Thankfully, his sister was following close behind with a tow rope. He drove, she followed, he braked… and she crashed right into him.

You can’t make this up!

His father was less than impressed as they rolled into the driveway with the “new” car in tow. That moment marked the beginning of his first engine rebuild and a crash course in bodywork—and he has been driving that little Spitfire ever since.

His passion for cars only grew stronger over the years and eventually turned toward Corvettes. His very first Corvette—this little white Corvette—has proven to be his true champion.

He found it at a local used car dealership in the winter of 2004. Within days, it was completely apart. His wife’s astonished reaction—"Can you actually put that back together?”—only made him smile. He has had this car apart and back together more times than anyone could possibly count.

A few years after the rebuild, he was finally confident this was “the” driver. Reliable and sexy, sporting a stunning custom pearl paint job and fresh whitewalls, we set off for New York City and Broadway.

What a trip. What an adventure. Until it wasn’t.

We found a secure storage facility in the “City That Never Sleeps" and watched as the valet drove the Corvette into an elevator and whisked her away upstairs. We enjoyed an amazing few days, but when it was time to leave, the car was having charging issues—alternator problems. Fortunately, with a mechanic onsite and all the proper tools available, Lajos felt confident enough to begin the drive home.

As we headed west along 51st Street, a pretzel cart vendor was heading east… uphill. He was pushing with all his might, I was screaming with everything I had, and then—smash—the cart rolled directly into the front of the little white Corvette.

You honestly can’t make this up!

The Corvette eventually made it safely home, a little battered and bruised, but after a fresh oil change and a sleek black front bra, the evidence of the rogue pretzel cart disappeared, and she was ready once again for her next adventure. This car is an absolute champion.

For more than 20 years, we enjoyed yearly spring and fall road trips together. The Adirondack Mountains, Lake Placid, and Lake George car shows became favorites, but for us it was always more about the drive than the destination.

Collecting cars eventually became another passion. The hunt was half the fun—researching numbers-matching vehicles, verifying authenticity, and tracing vehicle histories while searching for the perfect next addition to the collection.

Most of the cars were “almost” finished restorations, and Lajos would complete the final stages himself.

Over the years, he specialized in Corvettes and enjoyed an impressive collection that included a 1963 Split Window Corvette; a little red C1 Corvette with original fuel injection; the little white Corvette C2; a 1980 C3; and a 1984 C4. Today, he still enjoys three Corvettes in his collection.

But one dream always remained at the top of the bucket list—touring Route 66.

In 2022, that dream finally began. The first leg of the journey took us west to Calgary, Alberta. From there, we ventured onward to Vancouver, British Columbia. The third stage brought us south along the breathtaking Pacific Coast Highway until we officially crossed the finish line of Route 66 at Santa Monica Pier. From there, America’s “Mother Road” became the final chapter of the journey as we slowly worked our way back home to Canada.

The weather could not have been more perfect as we navigated using two GPS systems, desperately trying to stay on the original Route 66 wherever possible. Sometimes the road no longer existed, and other times it was simply too rough for this old girl to handle—the car, not me!

Somehow, we always managed to find our way home, with thousands of photos and videos to prove it.

Of course, after every major road trip comes another partial rebuild. That’s simply part of the routine—figuring out what rattled loose this time.

In 2025, we only managed one major tour, but what a spectacular tour it was. If not for the incredible hotels along the way, it may very well have rivaled the Pacific Coast Highway itself. This time, we traveled the perimeter of the Gaspé Peninsula, chasing lighthouses instead of roadside Americana. There were more than a few white-knuckle roads along the way, but every twist, turn, and cliffside curve was worth it once another “treasure” revealed itself around the bend.

This past winter, Lajos once again immersed himself in rebuilding and improving the little white Corvette. Both doors now feature entirely new hardware, making the car significantly quieter and more refined to drive. She has been cleaned top to bottom and is now fully prepared for our upcoming full Atlantic Canada tour.

This time, we plan to store the car between provinces so we can truly slow down, fully experience each region, and capture every bit of breathtaking scenery along the way.

And for a glimpse into the little white Corvette’s future?

During the winter of 2027, she will undergo one final rebuild and preparation for the biggest adventure yet. Then, in the spring of 2028, the little white Corvette will head west one final time across Canada. Once she has captured every corner of this beautiful country, she will be carefully packed up and shipped overseas to Europe—where an entirely new chapter of worldwide adventures will begin.

So buckle up, sit back, and enjoy the ride.

May 30, 2026, marks the beginning of our live tour, fully captured for everyone to enjoy on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. Follow along and never miss another adventure with the little white Corvette!
